North West Food and Drink Awards 2015

Archant

This category aimed to celebrate your favourite food or drink product – whether made by a Cheshire/Lancashire farmer, producer, retailer or manufacturer.

Sponsored By Farrow and Ball

Winner: Mrs Bourne’s Cheese, Malpas

Based deep in the heart of rural Cheshire, Mrs Bourne’s Cheese do things in the traditional way. And nothing benefits more from meticulous handcrafting than the county’s most famous epicurean export: cheese. The family firm has been hand-making fine Cheshire cheese since 1750 and in the same location, Bank Farm near Malpas, since 1930. Unlike many other cheese makers today who use industrial methods, they still use traditional hands-on techniques to produce cheeses with top quality milk from their own herd of specially bred Friesian cows. Their cheeses have been awarded numerous gold, silver and bronze medals at the British Cheese Awards, prizes at the Nantwich International Cheese Show and gold and silver medals at the World Cheese Awards.
