Being a seaside town, the most obvious place to take photos in Southport would be along the 22 miles of Sefton coastline.
Of course there is the Pier that is over a kilometre in length and allows to you take spectacular panoramic views of the Lancashire coast (on a good day, you can also see as far as the Fylde Coast).
It’s not just golden sands you can capture in Southport, the town is well known for its greenery as well, there are numerous parks and gardens, including the the King’s Garden, Hesketh Park and the Marine Lake, the Botanical Gardens in nearby Churchtown are well worth a visit as well.
There are some spectacular events, unique to Southport, that are ideal for the keen photographer, the annual flower show held every August in Victoria Park is always a treat, and the Air Show in September will give you some exciting flyover shots (if you’re quick enough), and later on in the year, Southport plays host to the British Musical Fireworks Championship every Autumn.
