John O’Gaunt Rowing Club 175th anniversary lunch

Lancaster sporting club celebrate a special occasion

A celebratory lunch was held at Lancaster Golf Club on the precise day that Lancaster John O’Gaunt Rowing Club was formed 175 years ago.

Guests at the anniversary event included past and present members of the along with their partners, as well as the Mayor and Mayoress of Lancaster and Claire Briegal, chair of the North West Regional Rowing Council.

Approximately £1,200 was raised, which will go toward the club, and 20 copies of the limited edition print of the painting commissioned by local artist Chas Jacobs of the club rowers on a Sunday morning were sold.
