The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster launched its new season with their latest homegrown production, The Ockerbys on Ice.

The new play, by Coronation Street scriptwriter, Debbie Oates, focused on an ordinary couple given a second chance at life thanks to cryonic freezing.

Playing Dennis and Viv Ockerby were Bolton’s David Crellin and Oldham-born Karen Henthorn, who played Teresa Bryant in Coronation Street for three years. Among the guests during the opening week of the production were Coronation Street regulars, David Neilson, Melanie Hill and Dolly-Rose Campbell, as well as playwright, Jim Cartwright.
