Singer Rebecca Ferguson delighted guests at a charity lunch in Liverpool’s Albert Dock. The singer, who rose to fame via The X Factor, sang and chatted about her new album, Superwoman

Rebecca Ferguson was the star attraction at a lunch which raised thousands for a children’s charity. She entertained a packed Gusto Restaurant and Bar at the Albert Dock with an insightful question and answer session and a showcase from her latest album ‘Superwoman’.

Guests enjoyed a drink on arrival and a three-course lunch before listening to Rebecca, one of the country’s most talented singers.

The afternoon was hosted by Jay Hynd, with assistance from Radio City’s Claire Simmo. Rebecca gave an honest and sometimes emotional account of her life and career before taking to the stage to sing and closing with her hit single ‘Nothing’s Real But Love’.

The event, organised by Carolyn Hughes PR in association with Radio City’s Cash for Kids, raised £20,000 for the charity.

Rebecca received a standing ovation before Tricia McTeague rounded off the afternoon with a party set of floor filling tunes, ably assisted at one point by the talented Marcus Collins.

Event organiser Carolyn Hughes said: ‘We cannot thank Rebecca enough for her generous support today. Despite her phenomenal success and incredible talent she still retains a deep affection for and loyalty to her home city. Today would not have been possible had she not fitted us into her very busy schedule. Thanks to the adorable Marcus Collins for his input as well. It was a fantastic afternoon.’
