Keep Britain Tidy have announced their Blue Flag and Seaside Awards for 2016, and Blackpool celebrates a first

A Blue Flag award is the international standard for the beach quality and for the first time ever, one of Blackpool’s beaches – South Beach – has made the grade.
The Seaside Award is the nationwide standard for the best beaches across the UK, of which Lancashire now has ten for 2016.
We pay tribute to all ten award winning beaches with a collection of our favourite reader photos from over the years.
