The Chinese Year of the Snake got off to a lively start at the Yang Sing restaurant in Manchester's Chinatown.

The Chinese Year of the Snake got off to a lively start at the Yang Sing restaurant in Manchesters Chinatown.

The occasion was celebrated at the Yang Sing as dragons, lions, unicorns and all manner of mystical creatures danced and paraded through the city centre.

The celebration brought thousands of visitors into the city. Yang Sing hosted a private lunch for almost 200 guests in their private dining room and saw the restaurant packed throughout the day.

Bonnie Yeung from Yang Sing told Cheshire Life:It was a fantastic day and a great opportunity to catch up with family, friends and longstanding guests but also a chance to share food and festivities with new faces. We wish everyone health, wealth and prosperity in the Year of the Snake. Kung hei fat choi.
