Four schools have received special awards from Lancashire County Council as part of a campaign to encourage green and healthy activities.


Four schools have received special awards

from Lancashire County Council as part

of a campaign to encourage green and

healthy activities.

The Chairmans Challenge primary

school title went to Fulwood St Peters. In

the special/short stay category, Astley

Park were named champions. The

secondary school title went to Lostock

Hall Academy and the family involvement

champions were Pinfold Primary,

Scarisbrick.

The finalists went to County Hall to

make a presentation in front of the judges

and the winning schools received 1,000

towards their activities.

Now in its eighth year, the Chairmans

Challenge encourages pupils, schools and

families to come up with innovative ideas

to make their school healthier, greener

and safer.

Geoffrey Roper, the county council

chairman, congratulated all the schools.

The judges included Jeremy Gorick, the

High Sheriff of Lancashire.
