Mary Berry, the star of The Great British Bake Off will be announcing the category winners and crowning the National Cupcake Champion at the live judging, to be held on 9 November at Cake International’s Birmingham show at the NEC.

The entry that attracted the judges’ interest in the early rounds was the Bacon and Maple Syrup Gluten Free cupcake, devised by head baker, Natalie Owen.

While all the sponges are less than 5% fat, the inspiration for new flavours come from traditional British baking, modern American styles and interesting flavours from around the world.

As well as an array of delicious cupcakes, Natalie daily bakes brownies, cookies, scones as well as custom cakes made to order.

Marketing Manager Elisabeth Shane-Trickett said ‘Everyone at Cupcake Boutique is very excited about reaching the finals of the National Cupcake Championships and would like to thank all our loyal customers who have supported us for over two years.’

‘In the run up to the finals, we will have our winning cake available to taste along with many other delicious cupcakes and treats and we would invite all customers to come along, try some cake and celebrate this amazing achievement with us.’
