Tom Wood, the Butchery Manager at Huntleys Country Stores Ltd has recently been selected to represent one of the five UK Butchers to make the grade for TEAM GB which will compete in the Tri Nations butchery competition in New Zealand later this year.

In the farm shop you will find Tom in the Butchery serving up a range of locally sourced meats in various cuts to inspire customers to create tasty dishes. Tom has been the Butchery Manager for nine months and in this time he has worked hard to achieve the Gold Standard for the butchery awarded by the national body, EBLEX. This award now means that the Butchery at Huntleys is exceeding the current commercial and legal standards for producing high quality beef and lamb that is fully traceable, assured and accredited.

This has not gone unnoticed by the Northern Independent retailers Awards where Huntleys’s butchery is in the final nominations for BUTCHER OF THE YEAR - Northern Section. The awards night will be held in Manchester on 19th July where Tom will find out if he has led the butchery to another great success.

Huntleys Country Stores Ltd at Samlesbury, near Preston is a family owned business with a fully stocked farm shop, restaurant and shopping village. The business prides itself on providing its customers with top quality produce, sourced locally and responsibly wherever possible.
