Nigel Haworths Fantastic Food Show, now in its second year, got a little bit heated this time around, writes Victoria Heneghan.
The event, at Blackburn Rovers Football Club, had some new and quite extraordinary elements. To the delight of the audience, Michelin-starred chef, Nigel, who co-owns the Northcote at Langho, cooked fish using the engine of an Audi R8 Supercar.
Another highlight was the barbecuing competition and there were useful workshops for culinary enthusiasts in which they could sample local produce and watch a host of celebrity chefs at work, including Simon Rimmer, from BBC 2s Something for the Weekend.
Nigel said: It was a fantastic weekend - we really showcased the amazing produce that the north west has to offer. There is so much more I would like to do and we are already starting to plan the Fantastic Food Show 2012.
