It’s easy to see why Victorian novelist Elizabeth Gaskell took her holidays in Silverdale and wrote some of her best-selling novels here.
In more modern times, nearby Leighton Moss RSPB Nature Reserve attracts more than 100,000 visitors a year and the surrounding area, especially Jenny Brown’s Point, is a haven for walkers searching for views across Morecambe Bay.
