From windows and doors through to glass ceilings and staircases, Abbey Village based Anglezarke Designs can help to take your property up a level.
Anglezarke Designs Ltd has been at the forefront of the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke architectural glazing solutions for private high end residential and commercial buildings for over 15 years.
Our ultimate aim is to turn a client’s Concept into a Reality!
Anglezarke Designs are proud to stand out from the crowd. “What we produce tends to be unusual, and it’s always something very unique to that individual client,” reflects managing director Martin Haslam.
Being the leaders in their field when it comes to bespoke glass design solutions Martin comments “we specialise in everything that has a glazing element in it, so everything from staircases to large glazed screens and doors to walk-on glass. Our aim is to try and produce something that is unusual, specialised and very unique to each of our clients”’.
Anglezarke Designs is a family affair at heart, with the firm descending from Martin’s father’s cast iron conservatory company that was first set up in 1987. “‘Following this my brother and I set up the design wing of the company in 2003 as cast iron was becoming harder to source. We noticed through research that people wanted to use more sustainable glass products and contemporary designs were becoming more desirable” Martin explains, “to evolve the business had to offer something special and so it became Anglezarke Designs”. Their state of the art design studios and showroom are now based in a Grade ll listed converted cotton mill in Abbey Village near Chorley. This is well equipped with designers computer aided design (CAD) facilities, skilled manufacturers and a skilled in-house installation team.
They carry out a wide variety of projects on behalf of both high-end Architects and private, in some cases, well known clientele. Their designs are now housed within some of the most prestigious residential and commercial properties across the North West.
When architects or clients come to Martin and his team with the seeds of an idea, they will draw up designs tailored to that individual’s needs and then oversee the entire glazing project from in-house manufacturing through to final on-site and installation by their in-house skilled fitting team.
This ensures the highest possible quality from start to finish, enabling the concept to become a reality. Anglezarke Designs are also careful to ensure that their products are as sustainable as possible, enabling their clients to ensure their homes are both insulated and ventilated. “Most glazed units coming on to the market place now are very energy efficient, and we are continually conscious of using the most up to date resources ” Martin comments.
Their portfolio of work to date is more than a little impressive – they have done everything from installing glass staircases and lift shafts in Manchester City Art Gallery through to creating a huge glass roof light in Lancaster University Library. “That was quite an engineering feature,” Martin stresses. Anglezarke Designs have also carried out projects within private properties for A-list clients, creating spaces that certainly have the ‘wow’ factor. Most recently, they designed a two metre by three metre set of flood doors and flood window for a converted boathouse on Lake Windermere, creating a guest bedroom with unrivalled views. “When you look out onto the lake, you don’t see the shore, just the water lapping against your doorway,” Martin says.
Although the firm have carried out projects across the nation, they work predominantly in the North West and are proud to be part of the Abbey Village community. “We try to employ local people as its important when small businesses can help to keep the community going,” Martin says. They have also worked in partnership with Lancashire County Council to create apprenticeship places, helping to pave the way for the next generation the design, skilled and construction industries
