Bolton School hosted a culinary master-class for the Old Girls' Association to raise awareness of a foundation supporting sufferers of Phelan McDermid Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder affecting Charlie Kay, a six-year-old boy from Westhoughton.

More than 100 attended the event at the school Arts Centre. It bwas organised on behalf of the foundation by Natalie James, along with Charlie’s parent, Andrew and Kathryn. Dinner was prepared by top local chef Mike Harrison, who also demonstrated how the food was cooked between courses. The event raised 1,772.
