Gill Shaw, a civil servant from Crosby married John Foster, a fitness club owner from Edgworth at Edgworth Methodist Church. The ceremony was followed by a reception at The Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Clayton-le-Moors. The wedding followed a particularly hard year in 2010 as Gill was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo treatment including operations, chemotherapy and radio therapy. The couple are now looking forward to many happy years together.

Laura Tomlinson, second daughter of Alan and Sharon Tomlinson from Ribchester married Tim Moss, second son of Chris and Judy Moss from Surrey in a ceremony at St Wilfrid’s Church in Ribchester. After the service the bride and groom along with 30 of their family and friends cycled from the bride’s parents home in Ribchester to the reception at Bashall Barn, near Clitheroe – a total of nine miles!
Laura Hicks, a teacher originally from Church Stretton in Shropshire married David Rad from Formby at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas. The couple had a private photoshoot in the Neon Graveyard, Las Vegas and at other key sites. The bride wore a bespoke 1950s style prom dress with Vivienne Westwood shoes while the groom wore an outfit by Armani and Paul Smith. Family and friends enjoyed a reception at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas before the couple jetted off to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
The marriage of Alison Elizabeth Waite, originally from Barrow-in-Furness, daughter of Michael and Gillian Waite from Ulverston and William Wayne Smith, son of William and Anita Smith from Birmingham took place at St Laurence’s Church, Northfield, Birmingham. The service was conducted by Father Charles Lawrence with a reading by family friend Reverend David Marston from Ainsdale. Ella Jane Crook, youngest daughter of Barbara and Godfrey Crook from Hesketh Bank married David H Bennison, only son of Kathleen Coupland and the late John Bennison from Wheelton, Chorley at Mere Brow Methodist Chapel. After the ceremony a reception for family and friends was held in a marquee on the lawn of the brides’ parents home. Instead of traditional wedding presents guests made donations to CA Berry Builder Merchants to help complete the couples barn conversion in Mere Brow
Helen Jane Gibson daughter of Robin and Yvonne Gibson from Whitefield, Manchester married Ian Richard Maguire, son of Jack and Jean Maguire of Dromore, Co. Kate Brooks, an actuary from Standish, Wigan and daughter of Steve and Susan Brooks married Neil Whittingham, a chartered accountant also from Standish and son of Ray and Carole Whittingham at the Grade one listed St Wilfrid’s Parish Church in Standish. The couple met at school at Standish Community High School and finally got married both aged 30. The ceremony was followed by a reception at Mitton Hall, near Whalley.
Sophie McCleery and David Tomlinson from Hesketh Bank got married at Ferrari’s Country House Hotel in Longridge. Family and friends joined the couple from all over the world on a fabulously sunny day. The ceremony took place outside and was followed by cocktails and music in the sunshine. The evening reception consisted of a barbeque and dancing into the early hours. The couple then spent their honeymoon travelling around Tuscany.
