You could win terrific prizes from Wilkinson Cameras in our super photographic competition. This month we focus on the county's waterways

Lancashire and water are inextricably linked, whether its falling from the skies, lapping on our beaches, or meandering along our rivers and canals. And for the countys amateur photographers it is an endless source of inspiration.

These four shots are just a drop in the ocean of the hundreds of entries we have received to our competition and we have teamed up with Wilkinson Cameras to offer some wonderful prizes.

For more than 20 years the Preston-based company have been supplying top quality equipment to photographers. And they have selected three superb pieces of equipment as prizes for our 2010 competition.

The winner will receivea Canon EOS 500D &EF-S 18-55 worth 600, while two runners-up will win a Canon Digital Ixus 200IS each worth 230.

This months selection of entries focuses on water around the county - from the tranquillity of the Leeds Liverpool Canal to the crashing force of Ingleton Falls.

Entries are continuing to flood in to us - through the post and via our website and we will continue to feature some of the best entries in the magazine through the year and online at

This years winners, who will be selected by a judging panel led by Lancashire Life picture editor John Cocks and editor Roger Borrell, will receive a host of wonderful prizes.

The competition is only open to non-professionals and entries must be with us by October 8. All entries need to be in jpeg format at 300dpi and in as large a format as possible.

There are two easy ways to enter - you can upload your images to our website,, or send your entries on a disc, which is non-returnable, to 2010 Photographic competition, Lancashire Life, 3 Tustin Court, Port Way, Preston, Lancashire, PR2 2YQ. Well also need to know your name, address, telephone number and where each shot was taken.
