Cockerhams 49th annual show was a great dress rehearsal for next years golden anniversary. In fact, it was the best ever, according to Christine Smith, chairman of the organising committee.

There were more than 120 classes, ranging from arts and crafts, photography and even a paint your own Wellington boot competition.

Christine said the show really brought together the small north Lancashire coastal community. It has proved to be a real family event, she added. It takes a lot of preparation but it really gives us all something to look forward to. Its all about giving back to the community and bringing the village together.
