Parents, friends, staff and former pupils of Lancaster Royal Grammar School bade a fond farewell to Andrew Jarman, who left after eleven years as headmaster. Some 200 guests attended the glittering ball, which was organised by the Friends of LRGS and held in a grand marquee in the school grounds.

The LRGS Big Band entertained guests and accompanied Mr Jarmans rendition of Come Fly With Me and New York, New York. Mr Jarman, who was presented with an exquisite Jacobite wine glass, said the evening was the most enormous fun, with smiles and laughter from beginning to end; truly a night to remember.
