Heartbeat, the Preston-based charity which has been helping to rehabilitate people with heart conditions since 1978, staged a floral luncheon at the Gibbon Bridge Hotel in Chipping.

Around 100 supporters attended the ladies lunch and they were entertained by Clitheroe florist Linda Hardman and the guest speaker was Lancashire Life editor Roger Borrell.

The charity was started by Rose and Keith Redman, who lost their teenage daughter to heart disease. Since then, the charity has grown into one of the biggest in the region, helping Lancastrians recover and rebuild their lives after suffering heart illness, heart attack, cardiac surgery, angina and some types of stroke. It is funded entirely by generous donations from supporters.
