To kick start a year of 12 endurance challenges raising money for charity, John McDonough and Eddie Whittle hosted a dinner dance at Mytton Fold, Langho.
Around 90 guests attended the dinner and helped raise 4,600 towards the target of 8,000. The duo, who will be completing challenges including the Great North Swim, Pendle Predator, Tower to Tower and the Lakeland 50 are doing all this in memory of good friend Matthew Wallbank who died from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.
They aim to raise 2,000 each for Macmillian Cancer Support, CRY Cardiac Risk in the Young, Action Medical Research and the British Heart Foundation.
