A round up of Formby street parties celebrating the Royal Wedding
No sooner had the bunting come down than they were planning the next celebration. The folks in Formbys Old Town Lane are real party animals!
They proved that when they staged a hugely successful street party to mark the wedding of William and Katherine. It exceeded all our expectations, said organiser Lucy Benson.
More than 160 neighbours - young and old - turned out. It is something that will live on in our memories for a long time to come, added Lucy, whose young son Stanley brought out his magic set to do tricks in the street.
It seems the people of Old Town Lane have a taste for it now - next year is the Queens Diamond Jubilee and the bunting will be back out of the box. Meanwhile they also had fun in the neighbouring streets of Derby Road and Grange Lane.
