There was a distinctly regal theme about this years Wray Scarecrow Festival - there was even a stuffed Corgi left outside one front door. Thankfully, a bowl of water had also been placed nearby and there was a scarecrow Queen on hand to take him for walkies later.

The Royal wedding gave the organisers of this annual dose of daftness the perfect platform and villagers milked it for all it was worth, producing scarecrows with crowns, cloaks and sporting the red, white and blue. While the crowds enjoyed the fun, a more energetic lot were taking part in the festivals ten kilometre road race with Annika Jarmen home first for the women and Eddie Simpson crossing the line for the men.

A right royal day out.
