Fashion addicts from across the region flocked to Southport for the first ever Clothes Show staged in the resort.

Buyers, sellers and designers packed the Theatre and Convention Centre for the event, organised by locally-based agency GModels, for what show directors Lisa Hames and Chantelle Latham said was a major event in the run-up to spring and summer collections being unveiled.

There were many famous faces there including Neighbours actress Nicola Charles and Kent Riley, formerly of Hollyoaks. Familiar names in fashion retailing were manning the many stands and there was a catwalk complete with Milan-style seating and five main runway shows. The show charity was the Steven Gerrard Foundation.

Everyone agreed that that whether it’s flowers or fashion, Southport knows how to put on a show.
